PSD with Stainless Steel and Powerlink

Halstrup-walcher is kicking off 2026 with enhancements to the PSD product range. The PSD family stands out in particular due to its compact format and offers powerful direct drive performance despite its small size - ideal for machines that require a space saving solution for format adjustment without compromising functionality. The PSD direct drives with stepper motors are mechatronic systems with integrated control, bus interface, and an absolute measuring system without a battery. They are ideal for the automatic positioning of machine axes during format adjustments.
PSD 4xx with POWERLINK
The compact PSD 4xx direct drives from halstrup-walcher are fully integrated positioning drives that can be adapted to individual requirements thanks to a comprehensive modular design. The PSD 4xx, which was already available in configurations for the industrial communication systems IO-Link, EtherNet/IP, EtherCAT, PROFINET, and CANopen, now also offers communication via POWERLINK.
With the new product range expansion, the modular PSD family offers tailor‑made solutions for your application. The wide range of variants ensures seamless integration into your existing systems, both mechanically, e.g. via solid or hollow shafts or various designs, and on the software side - for greater efficiency in positioning applications.
PSD with Stainless Steel Hollow Shafts and Keyway
Another innovation is the price‑neutral further development of PSD 4xx variants with hollow shafts. In future, PSD drives will be supplied with stainless steel hollow shafts with feather keys as standard in order to expand the drive’s range of applications. Both the hollow shaft and the clamping ring are now made of stainless steel instead of burnished steel, thus achieving higher corrosion resistance.
